Class Videos

How To Watch Sound
I remixed & animated this classic rock song for one of the New Media Photojournalism graduate classes I taught at the Corcoran College of Art + Design.

The idea was to introduce people to watching sound with their eyes, not their ears.

Digital Media Culture
Intro to an Art History lecture I delivered at the Corcoran College of Art + Design.

I put together coverage of the 1937 Hindenburg disaster using obsolete media to fuel the discussion: “How will we communicate 75 years from now? To what extent will contemporary modern media be extant then?”

Student Work

These are highlights from a class I team taught at the Corcoran College of Art + Design with Bob Lasater and Sam Shelton for 4 1/2 years.

The students learned design strategy, teamwork and project management – while employing the graphic design, multimedia and new media strategy skills they’d been taught – in order to solve the communications problems we assigned them.

They worked hands-on with web design, graphic design, environmental & print collateral, typography, video, audio, information graphics & animation.

Additionally, each project required a detailed Project Book (below), to help the students learn what a client expects as a deliverable.
