LP or Die

I made the mistake of leaving for college w/o laying down some ground rules and my folks tossed my vinyl collection in the trash.

I’ve rebuilt much of it over the years, as well as adding stuff I’d never have listened to as a kid. I have the same Realistic turntable from back then hooked up to a modern studio set-up. (What they say is true: analog sounds better than digital, especially when cranked.)

This time-lapse on a cheapO camera is a quickened journey through my record collection, a big part my studio. Play it loud.

I composed and arranged its soundtrack & played all the instruments, except for John Ö. on the drums. It’s more than an accompaniment, though – this piece of music reflects the influence of some of the styles and genres in my LP collection.

If you didn’t grow up with vinyl, you’ve missed out.
