Music & Sports: Airchecks

I found an Internet station playing all sorts of great music from the middle of the 20th century, and recorded it off the air to VHS tape, as I knew it wouldn't last.

That was in 2004. Later I digitized the recordings and added them to the Internet Archive for posterity.

Here also is traditional country, cowboy tunes, and western swing from The Jerry Gray Show and vintage jazz, swing and big band on Hot Jazz Saturday Night, both mainstays on 88.5 WAMU FM.

Finally, there is a Baltimore Orioles post-game highlights cassette I recorded in the 1980s.

These shows were recorded by me live off the air onto whatever was handy at the time: cassette tapes, VHS tapes, zip hard drives, flash drives and solid state drives, then eventually digitized and added to the Internet Archive. Many shows are complete, but some aren't, FYI.
