Music & Sports: Airchecks
I found an Internet station playing all sorts of great music from the middle of the 20th century.
I recorded it off the air to VHS tape, which was all I had at the time, as I knew that station wouldn't be playing that music much longer.
That was in 2004. During quarantine I digitized the recordings and added them to the Internet Archive for posterity.
You'll find fantastic music from the 1950s; traditional country, cowboy tunes, and western swing from The Jerry Gray Show, and vintage jazz, swing and big band on Hot Jazz Saturday Night, both mainstays on 88.5 WAMU FM.
Finally, there is a Baltimore Orioles post-game highlights cassette I recorded in the 1980s.
