Web Dev + Design + New Media
I am someone who knows that ‘new media’ means a whole lot more than simply putting multimedia on a website.
If you can describe it, I can build it: custom sites & web apps for people who need something more than something off the shelf.
I build cutting-edge, rich, professional new media projects.
The tools I use include PHP, mySQL, CSS3, LESS, AJAX, JSON, jQuery, Bootstrap3, Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro, ProTools, Adobe Audition, WordPress API, Google Maps, Mapbox, OSM, Leaflet & many other dynamic open source APIs.
A partial list of companies for which I have lectured and/or performed work includes the National Trust for Historic Preservation; the American Gaming Association; the Corcoran Gallery of Art; The Catholic University of America; Siena Farm Horse Stables; AgIS Agricultural Investing; the ACLU; US/GAO; Chadwicks Restaurants, the National Press Foundation and many others.
I have taught many students in a lot of different courses and disciplines.
These include information design; new media & emerging trends; advanced multimedia & sound production; interactive communication design; graphic design; business communications & art.
Client work, drafts & proofs of concept.
I am fluent on both OSX and PC,
I use cutting-edge software, techniques, languages, equipment and platforms to ensure my work is always up to date and of the highest standard.
An extension of skin, bone, circuit boards, paper & vinyl – my work studio is a co-mingling of the obsolete and the cutting edge.
Original music, audio collage, time-lapse video, photography & more.
I can’t read or write a note of music, I am self-taught on numerous instruments by ear. The following selections are a small sampling of the music I’ve written & recorded over the years. These include work I composed for instruments I can’t play, such as violin, cello, baritone and tenor saxophones and others.re.
Aptitude tests in high school reported I was best suited to be a farmer.
Expelled my senior year from Gonzaga College High School, I was a high school drop-out for awhile until I convinced the Catholic University of America to accept me without a high school diploma, GRE or SAT scores.
No TV leaves plenty of time for reading: check out the last several years’ worth of books.
Burn. Your. Kindle.
Photographically-speaking, it took me awhile to go digital – a penultimate apostasy in my book.
